Hand Reaching for the Light

I was bored awhile back and was spinning (slowly) in my computer chair looking around the room. The fan was on and the light in it was on too.

I love shots that make use of perspective to make things look different than they really are (anyone seen the shot of former President George HW Bush and the dog where the dog looks bigger than he does?). So I stuck out my hand to "grab" the light ... and I thought it looked cool.

Took me several shots to line this up in a way I thought looked nice. I like how the light and dark works here. I think that even though the exposure seems a bit dark, it works with the idea of coming out of darkness, reaching for the light.

Although my intention wasn't that lofty at the time, I just wanted a cool picture
